Dr. Sally will be having a very deep interview on Friday, August 8 at 4pm Eastern.

Methamphetamine trafficking and abuse in the United States have been on the rise over the past few years and, as a result, this drug is having a devastating impact in many communities across the nation. Methamphetamine is increasing in the southwest, midwest, and southeast regions of the United States. Particularly disturbing is the fact that many young people perceive significant benefits in using Meth and little risk. Most users begin at the age of eighteen, but statistics are showing that the age of users are now starting as young as fourteen.

Loss of Innocence (Virgin Books, 2008) by Ron and Carren Clem, tells the first hand story of Carren’s journey into the underworld of meth addiction and her father’s fight to bring her back. After a long struggle and almost near death, Carren is now clean for 6 years.

Carren Clem, mother, and recovered meth addict, and her father are currently traveling nationwide discussing this growing problem with teens and how parents and society are handling it. They were the original keynote speakers at the launch of the Montana Meth project and have been speaking at numerous drug conferences, schools, churches and organizations around the country. Their non-profit organization Teens-N-Crisis is known nationwide. Since their efforts, Montana has seen a 60% reduction in Meth addiction as well as numerous other surrounding states. Ron and Carren have been featured on Nationally Syndicated Radio and TV programs, including The Montel Williams Show, and ABC’s Nightline and Dateline Australia.
