DRBC 2010 Webinar Series

Dachshund Rescue of Bucks County & NJ [DRBC] is pleased to offer our 2010 Webinar Series. These on-line workshops are hosted by dachshund experts and are designed to help you have a long and happy relationship with your dog. There is a small donation fee charged for attendance with all proceeds donated to DRBC for the high medical fees incurred in the rescue and rehabilitation of our beloved breed.

The March session will cover 2 important topics:

AVMA Dental Month
Those amazing toofers. How to keep them clean, bright and where they belong. Are doxies more prone to dental disease? How often should I clean my dogs teeth. How often should my vet clean my dogs teeth? Dental and cardiac disease, yes, they are related.

Did you know there is a new vaccine to eliminate 4 out of 5 of the causes of tartar? You can find out all about it at this session.

AVMA Wellness Month
The golden 15 minutes with your vet – what is really going on? Why all those tests? What is everyday wellness and how can your doxie benefit from a program like this. You don’t want to miss it!

Cynthia SM Kura, PhD – Medical Director, Dachshund Rescue of Bucks County & NJ

Cynthia Kura is Medical Director for Dachshund Rescue of Bucks County & NJ [DRBC], and has over 20 years experience addressing the medical problems associated with the dachshund breed. Dr Kura has worked to develop community education programs concerning pet health. She has initiated and managed vaccination clinics and has written medical standards for regional and national pet healthcare groups, which she works to maintain.

Dr. Kura has conducted breed specific research studies in conjunction with major universities and Veterinary Centers to prevent or minimize disk rupture in dachshunds and is currently developing a comprehensive nutritional program designed as an aid to prevention of early kidney failure in the breed.

In her “spare time,” Dr. Kura is “owned” by 8 special Dachshunds, who share her life and her home.

OCEAN CITY, Md. – When Vantage Resort Realty President Brooke Pfautz searched the nation for a charity to support, he never expected to find the best choice in his neighborhood.

The Believe In Tomorrow charity is “literally six blocks up from us. It’s fate,” Pfautz says. So the Ocean City, Md. realty company has committed to supplying the charity with welcome gifts and sponsoring monthly deck bar-b-que parties for Believe In Tomorrow’s young guests.

Since 1986, Believe In Tomorrow has provided more than 300,000 overnight accommodations, helping families with critically ill children stay together during a medical crisis or take a needed vacation. The charity operates several retreats in Maryland, including two in Ocean City and DE beaches.

Pfautz hopes the deck parties will provide a comfortable place for Believe In Tomorrow families to interact and a place where the young patients can enjoy a few planned activities and donated toys.

To prepare the welcome gifts, Vantage employees procured various gifts and spent a day stuffing bags with various beach toys, glow sticks, tee shirts and other beach essentials for every visiting family at Believe In Tomorrow’s House by the Sea retreat in Ocean City. “So when families come in, there’s this nice little welcome gift waiting for them,” Pfautz says.

OCEAN CITY, Md. – When Vantage Resort Realty President Brooke Pfautz searched for a Real Estate broker with all the qualifications to handle being the Broker of Record for the business in MD, DE, PA, NJ and future growth, he was pleased to find Bruce Witt.

Bruce Witt of Yardley, PA, has almost 20 years experience as a Real Estate Broker, and Trainer at Real Estate Schools. He is well regarded nationally as a trainer for the National Association of Realtors for their designation courses, as well as providing training to help prospective agents to get their licenses in PA, NJ, and DE. Bruce has travelled to provide corporate training in a variety of regions for his previous company.

Bruce is very excited to enter the new and wonderful world of Vantage Resort Realty.
